Cranberry glass bowl 1

This bowl has petals that are not as open as another I have on this site. They are great together or separate. 17 x 11 cm.
Cranberry glass is made in craft production rather than in large quantities, due to the high cost of the gold. The gold chloride is made by dissolving gold in a solution of nitric acid and hydrochloric acid (aqua regia). Cranberry glass has been made by hand since roman times. It is unknown where this piece was made but much of the cranberry glass seen today was made in Britain but there has been some made in North America.
